Backlinks generally refer to other blogs linking to your own blog. When other blogs reference yours, it increases your authority. This lets Google know that your content is trustworthy. Apart from the content, they also provide something extra which we call backlinks.
For example, if I’ve been posting stuff on my blog chanakyament.com for 9 years, or if I suggest a new blog called Wealthytrench.com, Google might think that Wealthytrench.com is making great content and might rank it higher in searches. This could slightly affect its ranking on the search engine.
